Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck

Camp Good Mourning! is a free overnight weekend camp for Long Island children and teens ages 7 to 17 who are coping with the death of a parent, primary caregiver or sibling. Kids who lost a close extended family member who lived with them, like a grandparent, aunt or uncle, are welcome too. Camp runs in the spring and fall at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island, a short ferry ride from Greenport or Sag Harbor, from Friday at 4pm to Sunday at 4pm. Campers get a real camp weekend, with a low ropes course, a gaga pit, fishing and basketball and volleyball courts, alongside support groups led by trained professionals, including mental health counselors, social workers, psychologists and grief specialists. Registered nurses are at camp around the clock. The camp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donors, grants and local businesses cover the cost, so it is free for families. Children can come back for more than one weekend, and families apply through the camper application on the camp's website.

Summer Streeters Day Camp at Sid Jacobson JCC brings the best of the JCC community to a camp setting, serving children from age 3 through Grade 10. The program offers flexible half-day and full-day options with activities including swimming, arts, cooking, dance, drama, gaga ball, and travel camp experiences. Campers enjoy the heated pool and diverse enrichment programming designed to engage children across multiple age levels.

Summer at the J is the Friedberg JCC's day camp for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade, held at the JCC at 15 Neil Court in Oceanside from 9 am to 4 pm with extended care available. The camp strives to provide an inclusive camp experience and runs a separate inclusion track for children with disabilities ages 5 to 13. Older kids entering grades 7 through 10 can join the L.I.T. leadership program at the same site. The Friedberg JCC is also a partner agency in Island Quest Day Camp at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds.

Stage 74 Summer Theater Camp is the Suffolk Y JCC's theater camp for kids entering grades 3 through 9, held at the JCC in Commack from June 29 to August 21, 2026 (no camp July 3). Campers choose between three week performance sessions, in which they rehearse and stage a full show and attend a Broadway performance, and one week workshops covering theater skills such as audition technique. Lunch and snacks are included. The JCC does not offer busing for Stage 74.
