Participants must be able to work in a lab and safely use hand and power tools under supervision. Students apply with a school transcript. Students bring their own lunch, and neither housing nor transportation is provided.
Grand Master Chung Tae Kwon Do, the kids-only school on Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park, runs an all-day summer camp for six weeks each summer, on weekdays, typically 8 am to 4 pm. Camp is run by the school's black-belt instructors and never takes more than 30 campers. Each week has 25 Tae Kwon Do lessons plus games and contests (dodgeball, Korean wrestling, and push-up and balance contests), field trips, and trophies and prizes every week. The school also runs camp days over the winter school break, for current students, and over the spring school break. The school teaches kids ages 2 to 13 and tells families directly which camp fits their child's age, along with dates, pricing and availability.
