Sound View Dunes Park

A quiet Southold nature park where a 1.63-mile moderate hiking trail runs from oak and pine woodland through sandy dunes to a beach on the Long Island Sound, with views across to the Connecticut shoreline. The shoreline stretch is a good spot for watching ospreys and other coastal birds. The terrain is sandy and uneven, so sturdy footwear helps, and in summer bring water and sun protection for the exposed beach section.
