Valley Stream State Park

Valley Stream State Park is a wonderful day-use picnic facility perfect for families looking to enjoy outdoor recreation without traveling far. The park is situated next to a residential area, making it an easy destination for families throughout Nassau County. Families will find plenty of amenities to keep everyone entertained. Children can enjoy dedicated play areas and playgrounds, while older kids can take advantage of basketball courts, volleyball courts, ball fields, and horseshoe pits. Nature lovers of all ages will appreciate the two educational nature trails—the Squirrel Nut and Hickory Nut trails—which allow children to explore different habitats within the park. For the more active, there's a unique walking course featuring a half-mile loop with 15 exercise stations designed for stretching and strengthening activities suitable for all ages. Picnicking is a major draw at Valley Stream, with tables, fireplaces, and grills available year-round.
