Camp Barrett
Camp Barrett is the Incorporated Village of Valley Stream's six week outdoor summer day camp, held at Barrett Park on the corner of Jadwin Street and Cochran Place in South Valley Stream. It serves children ages 4 (entering kindergarten) through 14, divided into seven divisions by grade, with full day (9am to 3pm) and half day (9am to 12 noon) programs plus morning care add-on options. Campers rotate through outdoor games, arts and crafts, dance, music, an obstacle course, sprinkler fun and imaginative play, and the calendar includes weekly Spirit Days and special events such as Color War, Carnival Day and the annual Camp Scavenger Hunt. Optional off-campus field trips to mini golf, bowling, Adventureland, roller skating and the Long Island Aquarium are available for an additional fee. Camp Barrett is open to Incorporated Village residents and Valley Stream Central High School district residents.

Summer Streeters Day Camp at Sid Jacobson JCC brings the best of the JCC community to a camp setting, serving children from age 3 through Grade 10. Summer at the J is the Friedberg JCC's day camp for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade, held at the JCC at 15 Neil Court in Oceanside from 9 am to 4 pm with extended care available. The camp strives to provide an inclusive camp experience and runs a separate inclusion track for children with disabilities ages 5 to 13. Older kids entering grades 7 through 10 can join the L.I.T. leadership program at the same site. The Friedberg JCC is also a partner agency in Island Quest Day Camp at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds.
Camp Wonderland is the Suffolk Y JCC's own day camp for its youngest campers, preschoolers entering the 3s through children entering 3rd grade, on the JCC campus at 74 Hauppauge Road in Commack. The day runs 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with 3 or 5 day weekly enrollment, and the 2026 season runs June 29 to August 21 (closed July 3). Campers get Red Cross swim instruction in the JCC pools, sports, music, arts and crafts, special events and Oneg Shabbat celebrations, moving between outdoor spaces and air-conditioned rooms. Lunch and snacks are included daily and before and after care is available. The JCC does not offer busing for Camp Wonderland.
Island Quest Day Camp is the Long Island JCC day camp at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights, run as a collaboration of Commonpoint Queens, Friedberg JCC, Gural JCC and Suffolk Y JCC with UJA Federation of New York. Campers are grouped as Travelers (pre-K through 3rd grade), Adventurers (grades 4 to 6) and Voyagers (grades 7 to 10), and each week choose from three Quests, Seek, Compete and Innovate, so every week is different. All campers swim daily, and the wooded campground has ziplines, sports fields and a new aquatics complex under construction. The Pathfinders Inclusion Program serves children with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities. Bus transportation from hub stops across Nassau County (Manhasset, Long Beach, Lynbrook, Merrick, Oceanside, Port Washington, Roslyn Heights, Wantagh), Suffolk County (Smithtown, East Northport, Huntington, Holbrook, Lindenhurst, Commack) and Queens is included in tuition, with door-to-door service for an additional fee.
