Eisenhower Park
Eisenhower Park is a massive 930-acre oasis in the heart of Nassau County—larger than Central Park—offering an incredible range of recreational activities for the entire family. Whether your kids want to splash in the free sprinkler pool, climb on playgrounds, or enjoy miniature golf, this park delivers world-class facilities alongside casual family fun. The park features three distinct playground areas, including the largest near Parking Field No. 2 with a free splash pool (open through Labor Day), climbing apparatus, slides, and swings. Beyond the playgrounds, families can explore the Nassau County Aquatic Center, one of the finest swimming facilities in the U.S., which offers swimming lessons for all ages (Leisure Pass and fee required). Kids will love the 18-hole miniature golf course named 'Best of Long Island' by News 12, open daily with hours varying by season. The park also features a two-mile fitness trail with 20 exercise stations, picnic areas, the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre for summer entertainment and movies, and numerous sports facilities. In the summer, the splash pad is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM through September 1st. Admission fees apply for some attractions: mini golf costs $10-$16 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under (with or without a Leisure Pass), while the splash pad and main playground areas are free. Reserved picnic areas require a Leisure Pass and fee, but non-reserved picnic areas are available. The park also offers the Children's Safety Town program during summer (July-August) by appointment for Nassau County third graders, as well as year-round school field trip options. Visit Eisenhower Park year-round for its stunning Veterans Memorial, 9/11 Memorial, and firefighter memorials—meaningful spaces to teach children about community and service. The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre hosts the annual 'Celebrate America' fireworks show and summer entertainment events. With restrooms, shade structures, and accessible facilities throughout, Eisenhower Park provides everything families need for a full day of outdoor recreation and learning.
