About

Tobay Beach Park is the Town of Oyster Bay's premier south shore summer destination, located just 4 miles east of historic Jones Beach on Ocean Parkway in Massapequa. This unique venue offers something for everyone in the family—choose between enjoying the Atlantic Ocean beachside or the calmer waters of the Great South Bay on the north side. Once the backdrop for a Marilyn Monroe photoshoot, Tobay Beach combines natural beauty with modern family amenities. Families visiting Tobay Beach will find plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. The highlight for younger children is the state-of-the-art spray park featuring a green jungle frog water sprayer, randomly dumping water buckets, cascading water features, spinning water spheres, an interactive water table, and multiple water spouts with varying heights—all set on safety surfacing with sunshades. The park also includes playgrounds, picnic tables, and bathrooms throughout the property. Dining options make it easy to spend the whole day at Tobay. Two waterfront restaurants offer something for every taste: The Boatyard features five food locations including a taco bar, raw bar, pizza bar, salad bar, and American Bistro with dancing and entertainment; The Surf Shack is a beachside tiki bar serving hand-helds and entrees just steps from the sand. Additional concession stands are available throughout the park. Admission is affordable for Town of Oyster Bay residents: $25 for a daily pass or $70 for a seasonal sticker. The beach is open weekends only starting May 23, 2026, then daily from June 27 through September 7, 2026, with hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and lifeguards on duty starting at 9:00 AM. For boating families, a 150+ slip seasonal transient marina offers a family-friendly environment. The nearby John F. Kennedy Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary, a 550-acre protected wetlands refuge for waterfowl, is also accessible with a free permit for residents.
