Island Quest Day Camp
Island Quest Day Camp is the Long Island JCC day camp at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights, run as a collaboration of Commonpoint Queens, Friedberg JCC, Gural JCC and Suffolk Y JCC with UJA Federation of New York. Campers are grouped as Travelers (pre-K through 3rd grade), Adventurers (grades 4 to 6) and Voyagers (grades 7 to 10), and each week choose from three Quests, Seek, Compete and Innovate, so every week is different. All campers swim daily, and the wooded campground has ziplines, sports fields and a new aquatics complex under construction. The Pathfinders Inclusion Program serves children with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities. Bus transportation from hub stops across Nassau County (Manhasset, Long Beach, Lynbrook, Merrick, Oceanside, Port Washington, Roslyn Heights, Wantagh), Suffolk County (Smithtown, East Northport, Huntington, Holbrook, Lindenhurst, Commack) and Queens is included in tuition, with door-to-door service for an additional fee.
