Valhallan Esports Training Huntington
Valhallan Huntington is a youth esports training arena on West Jericho Turnpike where kids play video games in person, with teammates and coaches, instead of alone at home. In its year-round team program, players join a team that meets each week for coaching, a skills curriculum and competition, playing teams from inside and outside Valhallan, and top teams go on to the company's annual Ragnarok tournaments. Along with in-game skills, coaches focus on teamwork, communication and sportsmanship, and the arena has a no-toxicity policy. Valhallan also lists social gaming clubs (Minecraft World Builders, Pokemon Kids Club, Dungeons & Dragons), coding, and coach-led gaming camps and clinics. Birthday parties get two hours in the arena with two coaches, pizza and soft drinks, and a Parents' Night Out offers supervised gaming, snacks and movie nights. L.I. Ninjutsu Centers is a martial arts and self-defense school on Hawthorne Avenue in East Islip that has taught on Long Island since 1991. Classes blend Ninjutsu with Karate, Ju Jutsu, Judo, Aikido and MMA, and are split by age: Little Warriors for ages 2 to 4, Mighty Warriors for ages 5 to 7, Elite Youth for ages 7 to 12, and a Teen and Adult program for ages 13 and up. Freedom Jiu Jitsu is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym on Medford Avenue in Patchogue with kids and adult martial arts classes focused on fitness, self-defense and community. The youth program is for kids ages 4 to 12 and is split by age: classes for ages 4 to 7 work on coordination, listening skills and basic movements, while ages 8 to 12 learn more detailed Jiu Jitsu techniques and positions and train in controlled rounds. Adults can start in fundamentals classes built for beginners and move up to regular classes with more advanced techniques and live training, and there are adult kickboxing classes too. Classes run mornings and evenings, no prior experience is needed, and the first class is free. The gym serves students from Patchogue, Holbrook, Holtsville, Shirley, Medford, Bohemia, Bayport and Yaphank.
Stage Door School of Dance is a dance studio on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue with classes for ages 12 months to adult in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern and lyrical, and acrobatics and tumbling. Recreational classes run from preschool dance for ages 12 months to 5 years through youth and teen classes for ages 5 to 17, with boys-only classes, adult dance, and fitness and conditioning alongside. Its weDance program offers classes designed for dancers with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral needs, from age 3 through adult, with a dance shadow assigned to every student and fully accessible studios and restrooms. Dancers who want to compete can join SDSD Crew, an open-enrollment competition team for ages 5 to 17 with no audition, or go on to the invitation-only Select program and the auditioned Elite Company, which competes at local dance competitions. The studio has five studio rooms, offers a free trial class for new students, and hosts birthday dance parties built around a private themed dance class.
Freeport Red Ravens Youth Football is a youth tackle football program in Freeport that plays in the Nassau Suffolk Youth Football League. It fields teams in four age divisions, Peanut (ages 5 and 6), Pee Wee (7 and 8), Midget (9 and 10) and Pony (11 and 12), plus a 13U Elite Travel Team. All coaches are USA Football members with Youth Tackle and Heads Up certification. The program teaches technique and fundamentals alongside life skills such as hard work, discipline, respect and teamwork. Home games are played at the Freeport High School field.
