Registering as a resident takes a current Recreation Card, and each camper can register for at most two sessions of each program.

The Town of Riverhead Youth Camp is a summer day camp run by the Town of Riverhead Recreation & Parks Department for children entering grades 1 to 6 who have completed kindergarten. Serving students in grades K-12, the camp offers instruction in visual art, creative writing, dance, music, theater, chess, and nature & sustainability through 1-, 4-, or 8-week sessions (June 29–August 21, 2026). The camp features daily festival performances by professional artists, age-appropriate divisions for younger campers, and busing from convenient locations across Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Tuition assistance and merit scholarships up to $6,300 value are available.

Winston Preparatory School's Summer Program is an individualized day program designed for students with learning differences including dyslexia, ADHD, and nonverbal learning disabilities (NVLD). The program offers academic instruction, executive function skill-building, 1:1 tutoring, and extracurricular activities tailored to each student's unique learning profile. With a 2:1 faculty-to-student ratio and an average class size of 8, students receive personalized support to develop independence and confidence as learners.

The Junior Ducks, official camp partner of the Long Island Ducks, run 4-day summer baseball camps at local Little League and baseball fields: Sayville Little League in Sayville, Islip Little League in East Islip, Bayport/Blue Point Little League in Bayport, West Islip Little League and The Bridges Academy in West Islip, Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, Baldwin Park in Baldwin, Stotzky Park in Riverhead, North Shore Little League in Rocky Point and Plainedge Park in North Massapequa. Each camp is three days at the local field plus a final Stadium Day at Fairfield Properties Ballpark in Central Islip, the home of the Long Island Ducks, where campers move between skill stations and check out with an autograph session. Half-day campers are ages 5 and 6 and full-day campers ages 7 to 12; some sites add a tots program for ages 3 and 4, and some offer softball. Campers bring their own glove, bat and helmet, and lunch is not provided. Registration is online, site by site.
